Athlete's Foot
stop the itch and burn of athlete's foot
Athlete's
foot is caused by a fungus that feeds on dead skin.
This fungus, called tinea pedis, thrives in damp,
warm locations such as locker rooms, public pools, and
gyms.
Hardy and contagious, the fungus usually attacks between the toes resulting in scaly, peeling, itchy red rimmed patches. In many cases the itch is severe. Scratching can spread the rash and by tearing the skin, lead to secondary infection.
Columbia Antiseptic Powder's patent anti fungal action cures athlete's foot. When combined with a few precautions, such as keeping the feet clean and dry, keeping the feet covered in public places (ex. wearing shoes), and discarding infected footwear, regular use of the powder prevents re-infection.
Helpful Information
Athlete's Foot is a fungal infection on the feet that thrives on moisture and lack of ventilation. To prevent infection, wear flip flops in public showers and dry the feet thoroughly before putting on socks and footwear. Disinfect public showers before using.
The
fungus that causes athlete's foot also infects other
parts of the body with the infection being named after the
part
of the body that is infected. Tinea
pedis
is athletes
foot. Tinea corporis is an infection on the body itself
and is most commonly called ringworm due to its appearance.
Tinea barbae is infection of the beard area (chin
and neck) and is also known as barber's itch. Tinea
cruris is infection of the groin and is commonly called
jock itch. Jock itch, ringworm and barber's itch respond well to Columbia Antiseptic Powder.
